Welcome Baby Caffrey Que

On April 16th, 2015 at 5:35AM, we welcomed Caffrey Que to the family!
He was 5lbs.12oz and 17.5 inches long. His original due date was April 30th,  he was schedule for a C-section on April 23rd, so just a little early, but all went well, and fast and everyone is happy and healthy!

Still in the O.R.... visiting with baby :-)

Back in a room now, just waiting for Tripp to come visit and meet his little brother.

At first dad was the only one that could get Caffrey to eat.
Tripp holding Caffrey.

We got to go home on Saturday the 18th. Well we got to leave the hospital, we then stayed in SLC for one more night, then headed home to Moab.

Holding a picture of Tripp up to Caffrey to see any similarities.

Caffrey and Izzy.... 5 weeks apart.

Tripp loves to hold his brother, he always asks to hold him or to help feed him, play with him, etc. Great big brother!

First non hospital bath... wasn't really a fan.

Soooo teeny!

Brotherly love.

Dad and Caff "hanging out" (literally).

Tripp put his baby (stuffed animal) in the car seat... he treats his pup the same as we treat Caffrey, it is really cute!

April...Pre-baby.

We were planning on going to SLC the week after Easter, but my last Dr. appointment showed signs of the baby coming early, so we were advised to head to SLC, since that is where we wanted to deliver.  We were hesitant to stay in Moab, because they do not have a NICU, which we needed last time.... so off we went, to potentially spend an entire month in SLC, away from home!

First thing we did in SLC, was visit Amanda and Tyrone to see baby Izzy! We were so excited to finally meet her!!!

While we got to hang out with Izzy, she found her favorite spot was right on my belly, and baby Caffrey would just kick and kick and kick while she was on there... we decided they were bonding :-)

Since we ended up in SLC for Easter, we got to celebrate Easter and have a fun Easter egg hunt. It was fun this year since he finally REALLY understood what he was supposed to be doing.

He sleeps like his daddy.... all over the place.

This is how we spent a Monday night in SLC.... belly snuggling. Just kidding, we went bowling, they just wouldn't keep their hands to themselves :-) Baby loves.

For the 3rd time EVER in his life, Tripp was down for the count... he got super sick with something, we have never seen him so calm, all he wanted to do was sleep, he would fall asleep anywhere and everywhere. It was SO sad. We took him to the Dr. and all tests were negative, so they said probably just a virus, but had to keep an eye on him, he was running a good fever, with a horrible cough for a few days.

This is what happens when you give a toddler messy paint and send him to grandma's room..... not my problem :-)

Catching up.... 2015

So... I am going to stop promising to get better at this blogging thing, and just accept that I am horrible at keeping it up, but here it is our summary of January to March, April gets more exciting :-) So far 2015 has been pretty busy! We went to SLC a few times, we have been getting ready for the new baby to get here, both of us have been working a lot, Tripp has been working WAY too much on his toddler skills (good and bad). Here are some pictures to go along with our summary :-)

Unky J babysat Tripp while we were in town in February, Tripp LOVED hanging out with his unky, and the good news is, they both survived. :-)

Tripp exhausted dad.... this is a common occurrence.

While staying at Nana's house, Tripp likes to come snuggle in the mornings after we all wake up. Snuggling and cartoons is the best way to start every morning.

Tripp talked about going bowling in Salt Lake for about a month before we even went up there, so we HAD to take him. He loved it and kept "teaching" everyone else how to bowl correctly....it was entertaining.

A Tripp selfie.

Then... we had winter in Moab... that was fun.... it only lasted about a day, but we got some use out of Tripp's winter clothes.

Louie found a new passion for trains.

Some of Tripps favorite indoor activities are legos, cars and trucks,

Having a conversation with Babe the cat.

A pic of the nursery we had been working on the past few months.

Our washer broke.... but Tripp and Jon fixed it in no time. Tripp is Jon's little mini-me... goes everywhere dad goes, does everything dad does.

Just making a mess.

Stretching with dad.....don't ask where his clothes are...we don't know. Tripp used to be so OCD about always having to have ALL his clothes on at all times, even socks and shoes, like 2 seconds out of the bath he would freak out without his clothes, he just recently has started changing on this, now he runs around in underwear half the time. When he does actually wear clothes, he still just loves his basketball shorts and t-shirts. Can't get the kid to wear pants to save his life.

Went on a family date to "MoYo" the frozen yogurt shop in Moab. Tripp took his own ice cream (allergy safe) and add-on's (allergy free chocolate chips) but really enjoyed the outing.

Chillin with Louie.

Playing outside... like we do everyday that the weather cooperates.

Was so tired today, he didn't even put the rest of his clothes on.... or get under the covers.  Toddler life is exhausting.

Tripps new phrase, that he often mixes up, but is hilarious, is "do you want tickets to the gun show?" Then shows off his muscles. Sometimes he just says "do you want to go to the gun factory?"

Playing outside.. making mud... or according to Tripp, making soup.

Tripp is showing dad what happens at the dentist.

Working on the trailer.

And sometimes we sleep......this is the quietest and calmest you will ever see him. He is a GREAT sleeper though, always has been!

Basketball (on the TV) and My Little Pony (on the computer) is very intense.  Yes Tripp has been in to My Little Pony lately. His favorite pony is Rainbow Dash.

I FINALLY got Tripp to do something crafty with me... the trick was to buy beads that are sports themed. Kept his attention for quite a while. I was impressed.

The Bike Park.... Tripp's favorite place! He would go here every single day if he could.  He is getting more fearless which is scary to mom, but that is why mom just doesn't watch it all anymore.... dad gets to be 100% in charge at the bike park to prevent mom from having a heart attack :-)

We found a lake in Moab, we are hoping to go play here more often when it gets nice and warm! It is called Kens Lake. It is small, but had all the essentials.....water, dirt and rocks!

Helping dad with yard work!

Then he had his own little picnic. He seriously could live outside all the time if we let him..... wants to play, eat, and sleep outside all the time! Nature boy :-)
